Pensions Technical Specialist

Within the Account Management Group (AMG) we pride ourselves on working with clients around the globe to develop solutions to meet their investment goals. Specific teams such as Alternative Investments, Cash Management, Financial Institutions, Global Consultant Relations, International, Private Client, Pension/Tax-Exempt and Wealth Management are dedicated to different types of clients to better understand their needs and to deliver excellent service by anticipating these needs.
Role Description:
The job supports the provision of a technical legislative service to all business functions that service defined contribution business (both Occupational and Contract based - Stakeholder/GPP).
Responsibilities:
Provide technical legislative and procedural support to a third party administrator that provides services to DC occupation pension schemes and a life company with particular reference to matters arising in respect of the life company's existing stakeholder and personal pension plans and developing products and services.
Provide technical support to teams administering the contract and occupational schemes on a third party basis.
Review and analysis of regulatory legislation and changes in regulatory practice. This would include review of Finance Acts as they affect pension schemes, Pensions Acts, Statutory Instruments and regulations as they affect changes and update pensions legislation, Guidance and Codes of Practice issued by the Pensions Regulator, updates issued by HMRC to the RPSM, Consultation Papers issued by DWP and HMT that are relevant to pension schemes, FSA Consultation Papers and Policy Statements as they affect GPP and Stakeholder products.
Disseminating information in respect of regulatory legislation and changes to relevant business functions.
Review Occupational Pension Scheme trust deed and rules and advising administration teams on any special administrative requirements.
Providing technical training for the business as and when required.
Provide technical review of new/revised procedures.
Technical review of retirements and death payments processed.
Provide advice and approval for pensions/life marketing materials and products where required.
Building effective working relationships other functional heads to ensure the technical requirements are understood and supported.
Skills and Qualifications:
Qualified as APMI or ACII.
Good working knowledge and overview of the life and pensions regulatory framework and rules in the UK and Europe.
Experience as a trainer.
Extensive experience working in the pensions/life industry in-house and/or with a regulator.
