Opportunity for enterprising and proactive investment analyst to join pioneering hedge fund investing in the African markets. Based in London, this is a chance to work with some extremely impressive individuals as part of one of the few investment firms focussing on Sub-Saharan Africa.

The client: A specialist hedge fund focused exclusively on investment opportunities in Africa across all major asset classes.

The mandate: The firm manages investments primarily in the equity, fixed income and currency markets of Sub Saharan Africa including Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia. The investment analyst will play a crucial role in identifying, analysing and making recommendations on suitable opportunities, a function that will involve frequent travel to the region.

The individual:

  • Will have worked in a similar capacity at a major investment management firm.
  • Will have three to five years experience as an investment analyst focussed on emerging market securities
  • Will demonstrate strong modelling and analytical skills
  • Will be proactive, innovative and commercially driven
In addition, it would be advantageous:
  • If the individual has direct experience of analysing and investing in Afrcian securities
  • If the individual has an appreciation of the cultural nuances involved in doing business in the region.
  • If he or she is of a pioneering nature and capable of meeting new challenges head on.
  • If they can demonstrate a track record of selling emerging market investments to institutional investors.
